Pomfret Road

A sustainable refurbishment of a ground floor apartment in London with an aim to minimise the embodied carbon footprint of the construction process and materials employed.  The project incorporates natural biodegradable strawboard for 90% of the fit out, English sycamore for flooring and joinery, british made sanitaryware and fittings and up-cycled materials for loose funiture. Simple ironmongery and joinery fabrication techniques were developed to reduce cost and facilitate future maintenance.  The project allowed us to experiment and test new materials but also to prove that specifying local suppliers and products minimises the carbon footprint whilst also helping towards investment into local skills and manufacturing.

All fit out designed and built by Poroban
